Sleeping well is important to the vast majority of people. Sure, there are a few who are freaks of nature who live from 3-4 hours of sleep per night. But they are few and far between, and the rest of us require 7-8 hours of rest so as to operate well on a daily basis. Because we spend nearly a third of our day sleeping, the value of a cozy mattress cannot be overstated. We can all go out and purchase tempura memory foam mattresses and sleep well every night. These are the best mattresses in the company. If money is no object, then you cannot go wrong with a tempura. They do cost thousands of dollars, and not everybody is prepared to make that sort of investment. A fantastic investment is in the eye of the beholder.
Memory foam mattresses generally tend to be hit and miss. If you randomly chose 100 people to sleep on the same mattress for two weeks, you would probably get 100 different opinions. Maybe there is some consensus, but you would get varying opinions. Some will say that the mattress is too firm. Another group of people may say it is too soft. Some will complain about the chemical smell it gives off. You will find some who experience pain relief, and many others who experience pain because of it. You may go to the local mattress store and lie back on a dozen memory foam mattresses, but not one will say the 2018 Innerspring mattresses. So as to know for sure if it is the mattress is for you or not, you will have to sleep on it for at least a couple weeks.
A whole lot of memory foam mattresses feel quite firm at first, but they do get softer with time. If you lie down on a mattress for 5 minutes, then you might conclude that it is too firm. But it may feel right in a couple weeks. Any mattress, while it is innerspring or memory foam is a great investment if it offers the comfort and support that you seek. End of story. The challenge however is to find one that matches that criteria. It is a challenging process mattresses are not comfortable and supportive for everybody. All of us react a little differently to memory foam. At minimum, start looking for one with a density of at least 4 lbs. If you want pain relief, then 5 pounds is better. Consider purchasing a topper if you feel uncomfortable spending hundreds of thousands on a new mattress.
